Each year, the Rodeo Association encourages young women who are interested in rodeo, equestrian skills, etc. to enter this competition. In 2009 we were successful in attracting several beautiful young women to strive for the title of Miss Lake County Rodeo Queen and Princess 2009.

For those young women who did not enter in 2009, we encourage you to consider joining us for this year's 2010 queen competiton. The Lake County Rodeo Association members realize that the future of rodeo lies in the hands and aspirations of our youth. If you think you would like to learn how you can be involved in this part of the rodeo, please contact Jeannette Roush at 707-263-0741 or Melissa Fulton at 263-5092.

We hold a series of clinics to allow contestants to ask questions and learn the aspects of being rodeo royalty. These include: hair, clothing, and makeup, speech readiness, written test questions, riding pattern practice, etc. These are not required meetings but are a great help for those girls running for the titles.

  • Contest Entries open Saturday, April 3, 2010
  • Contest Entries must be received by Saturday June 1, 2010
  • Poise and Personality Competition: Friday June 25, 6:30pm, Soper Reese Theater, Lakeport
  • Competiton: Saturday June 26, 2010  at Cole Creek Equestrian Center in Kelseyville

Lake County Rodeo Queen Contestants have to compete in several different areas to run for the title. These areas of competition include promoting the sport of rodeo in Lake County. Contestants are judged on poise & personaility, speech, interview, impromptu questions, modeling, horsemanship, horse knowledge, queen run, rodeo knowledge, and a written test.

Contact Jeannette Roush 707-263-0741 or Melissa Fulton 263-5092 for a Queen/Princess Competition package.  We hope you join us in this, the 81st  Annual Lake County Rodeo.
